Subject: Application for position of Athletic Director
Dear Mr. Beier,
I wish to apply for the position of Athletic Director as advertised. I have the necessary skills and qualifications for this post, as well as the necessary experience. I therefore believe that what I have to offer to Northeastern University will be of great benefit to the company.
I hold a B.S degree in sports management gained at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI in 2004. I also have 6 years of experience working as an Athletic Director at California State University, where I was employed to oversee sports activities and coach individuals. .
I am proficient at planning, organizing, scheduling and maintaining all types of sports and recreational activities likely to be found in a school fitness environment. I am familiar with team building techniques and feel quite capable of creating an atmosphere where all team members are fully engaged.
I understand the likelihood that travel and keeping unsocial hours, as well as long hours, may occasionally be required when teams are playing away, or when extra training and exercise regimes are deemed important, and I accept this as a necessary part of the job.
I am fully familiar with all necessary administration duties, as well as managing day-to-day operations. I also understand the importance of long-term strategic planning.
I feel sure that my proven ability to manage and maintain the highest standards as an Athletic Director will be of the greatest benefit to Northeastern University, and I have confidence that I can make a significant contribution to the university.
I may be contacted at (888)-674-4595, or by email at g.miles@zmail.com. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you at interview level, and I thank you for the opportunity to be considered for the post of Athletic Director.
Yours Sincerely,
(Signature hand written in blue pen ink)
